Wine, the new speculative world?

Buying wine like buying stocks option, few people do that
and it is a growing trend.

Beautiful bottles taking value in a cellar, thousands of French people have it,
usually with the aim to drink it one day.
This time, the approach is different, It represents a true investment.

Should we invest in wine?
Some investors do not even know the wines they have in their cellars....
They will never see the bottles from the moment they buy and when they sell.
And the sadest, they will never drink them!

What companies can offer these types of investments?
There are only young and rare companies.
They are called Patriwine, Cavépargne or Bergère investissement
This is an SME working in trading, a traditional activity.

And then, about two years ago, some customers expressed
their desire to speculate on the wine.
Camille Benoist, the manager, creates a real portfolio
and he manages currently 150 wine substitute shares.

Customers buy wine, but the company stores it.
They can sell it whenever they want, in full or just a part but of course,
they can also get it for drink, It is very flexible.

When investors have doubts about banks and financial investments, it looks like a perfect remedy. Especially because Asia is more and more concerned.

It represents a huge market that loved beautiful labels,
especially “Bordeaux great growths”.
Prices of some bottles increase with this Asian demand.
But it is a very small market.
Stocks are limited, especially about Classified Growths.

Risk of this speculative bubble is that it could bursts and prices collapse.
For now, this bubble inflates and it annoys wine lovers.

Among them Philippe Faure Brac, which has Le Bistrot du Sommelier in Paris.
He was awarded world's best sommelier in 1992.
Some bottles seem to him inaccessible at this time.

China has invested heavily in the wine market in 2009 and 2010.
Prices rose sharply for the most prestigious labels.
The course is still rising today: an increase that settles around 15% for 2011 though.

Wine is a great passion for us, not a stock option...
happily there is sill a lot of great little wine growers to discover around Bordeaux!

Cheers Machine!

Have you ever been served by a machine?

The oenomatic system knows a very fast development these days.

The oenomatic places we liked:

In Bordeaux you can find it in Max Bordeaux (cours de l'Intendance),
a little bit expensive,
but so beautiful and welcoming

Also, you can in Les quatre coins du vin
You can find a very interesting wine selection,
and your are warmly welcomed.
Their food plates are excellent, especially the vegetarian one.

In Paris now, there is a beautiful wine shop and bar,
Wine by One (Rue des Capucines).
A hundred wine selection, a perfectly design place,
and a great formula bruschetta+gourmet coffee

Let's speak health a little bit...

British parliamentarians have recently published
a report  requesting their citizens not to drink alcohol
at least two days a week.

The current UK recommendations, which are higher
than those of most countries require that men should not regularly
drink more than three to four units of alcohol a day
and that women should not drink more than two to three units.

These tips have been revised in the 1990s
to move from weekly recommendations to daily recommendations
after research had shown that alcohol consumption
could reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.

To be precise and clearer, in the UK, a unit of alcohol is half a pint (284 ml) of beer
or a glass (175 ml) of wine or 25 ml of 40% alcohol.)

In France, the organisation "Vin et Société" (literaly "Wine & Society"),
is struggling for a smart and epicurian way of consuming wine

They recommend three glasses maximum per day for a man,
and two maximum for a woman (unfair...), and one day of abstinence per week.

They wrote a manifest we can approve and sign on their website:

"In a glass of wine, there is a little geology, geography
work, precision, expertise, transmission,
and especially education and history.
Treat the wine only as an alcoholic beverage is despite History,
make "a slurry with statistical culture".

It is as calculated in kilograms Monet painting and Ravel in decibels.
The wine invites us to exercise our sense faculties.
Discover it in all its diversity, the taste, drink and appreciate,
with its head and its meaning can be learned and it is shared.

That is why we are advocates of education
the only way to fight against the Excess
that degrade physically and morally. "

The team of BordeauxSpeakinWine totally approves this speech,
let's enjoy and taste our delicious wine with responsability
...and a good meal.

Bordeaux Speak in (not only) Wine

When you think of Bordeaux, you think about… WINE.

But Bordeaux is not just about wine (we know it is tough to hear).

Indeed it is also a great place for spirit drinks
The position of our beautiful city in the French “spirit valley” is one its advantage.

Here a small sample of what you can find:
cognac, pineau, limancello, liquor and also vodka.

For Cognac maniacs: you can find a very special cognac which is ICE COGNAC by ABK6.
This cognac is one of the news and it has a very special attribute:
its taste change with its temperature.

It is the first cognac you can drink on the rock!

For the pineau, which is more from cognac and Angouleme
you can find the Jules Gautret pineau.

This one is without a doubt one of the most classical and most delicious
you can find on the market.

And you can also taste a French limoncello
from the Bernard family, KYPRIS
They are also famous for their vodka and liquor.

A limoncello from Bordeaux, can you believe it
?

And of course we have to talk about a great spirit which everyone knows.
One of the best vodka of the world, the star of vodkas:
GREY GOOSE!

Of course enjoy it, and consume with responsibility.

Oh, we almost forget, HAPPY NEW YEAR
